Much - The Cock Tavern Theatre
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
HANNAH Patterson’s first full-length play, Much, receives its world premiere at The Cock Tavern Theatre, where it runs from February 25 (previews from February 23) to March 20, 2010.
Set against a London backdrop, Much tells the tale of a young, ambitious woman pushing the boundaries of privacy with her art, and explores the loss of innocence in a ruthless world.
Helen is about to marry Roy when Tom, his son, arrives, stirring up memories of the past. With him is Sylvie, a budding artist, whose presence exposes the dysfunctional ties that bind a domineering tycoon, his forsaken son and the central object of their affection.
A poignant play, Much is about a broken couple and the road that must eventually lead a son out of his father’s shadow.
Fringe First winner Hannah Eidinow directs a cast that includes Caroline Corrie (as Helen), Roger Ringrose (Roy) Will Irvine (Tom) and Leonie Hill (Sylvie).
Much is designed by Trudi Molloy, with lighting by Matt Britten. Assistant director is Tim Newns.
