NT's The Cat In The Hat returns to the capital

A BRAND new production of the National Theatre’s acclaimed stage adaptation of Dr Seuss’s The Cat In The Hat is returning to London – to Greenwich Theatre, where it will play just 12 performances – from Wednesday, February 19 to Sunday, February 23, 2014.
From the moment his tall, red-and-white-striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that the cat in the hat is the funniest, most mischievous cat they have ever met. With the trickiest of tricks and craziest of ideas, he turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure. But what will mum find when she gets home?
Based on the much-loved book by Dr Seuss, The Cat In The Hat is a lively and engaging first theatre experience for young children aged 3+.
The cast features Ashley Bates as Cat, Paul Cleveland as Fish, Cassandra Harris as Sally, Robert Hannouch as Boy, Jill Regan as Thing 1/Kitten 1 and Andrew Beckett as Thing 2/Kitten 2.
The cast will be presenting a special reading of Dr Seuss’ book at Waterstones Greenwich, 51 Greenwich Church Street, SE10 9BL on Saturday, February 15 at 12pm.
Based on the book by Dr. Seuss, The Cat In The Hat was originally produced by the National Theatre, where it was adapted and directed by Katie Mitchell. This new production is directed by Lillie Collier, designed by David Shields and produced by Kylie Vilcins for PTM Ltd. It is presented through special arrangement with Josef Weinberger Plays Ltd on behalf of Music Theatre International (MTI).
