Casting Update
ON SUNDAY, November 11, 2012, Alistair McGowan (as Mr Pressman), Wendi Peters (Kath Casey) and original cast member Tameka Empson (Billie) will join Madness frontman Suggs in the tenth anniversary West End gala concert of Our House at the Savoy Theatre.
Impressionist, comedian and actor, Alistair McGowan’s recent London stage credits include Pygmalion (Garrick Theatre), the Carl Rosa Opera Company’s production of The Mikado (Gielgud Theatre), Cabaret (Lyric Theatre), They’re Playing Our Song, alongside Connie Fisher (Menier Chocolate Factory) and Little Shop of Horrors, for which he recieved an Olivier nomination (Duke of York’s and Ambassadors Theatres).
He also starred alongside Dame Judi Dench in the RSC’s adaptation of The Merry Wives of Windsor at Stratford-upon-Avon.
Although he’s best known on television for his work on The Big Impression, he has also appeared in Preston Front, Bleak House and Mayo (title role); while his film credits include Driving Aphrodite and The Norris McWhirter Chronicles.
Although best known for playing Cilla Battersby-Brown in Coronation Street, Wendi Peters has previously appeared on stage in Brighouse’s The Game, April In Paris, Cecelia Ahern’s Mrs Whippy, Grumpy Old Women Live 2 – Chin Up Britain and Noises Off.
Also no stranger to musicals, she has appeared in national tours of Hello Dolly! and Guys and Dolls, as well as The Scarlet Pimpernel, Into the Woods (Wolsey, Ipswich), Follies In Concert (London Palladium) and most recently, The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Landor and Arts Theatres).
Tameka Empson, currently playing Kim in EastEnders, has also appeared on television in Beautiful People, Whitechapel and Sam’s Game. Empson is a regular performer at the Hackney Empire, starring in the theatre’s annual pantomime since 2004.
Joining them in the cast of Our House are Chris Carswell (as Joe Casey), Miria Parvin (Sarah), Jack Shalloo (Lewis), Jenny Fitzpatrick (Angie), Matt Cross (Reecey), Greg Airey, Georgie Ashford, Lauren Appleby, Kara Bayer, Gabrielle Brooks, Dougie Carter, Debbie Jenkins, Paul Kemble, Lewis Krik, Kayleigh Louise-Smith, Michael Melmoe, Jenny O’Leary, Carryl Thomas and Gavin Wilkinson.
Our House – In Concert is being staged in aid of Help for Heroes.
