Parade - casting announced
CASTING has been announced for the major London revival of Parade, which runs at Southwark Playhouse from Wednesday, August 10 to Saturday, September 17, 2011.
Alastair Brookshaw plays the central role of Jewish factory manager Leo Frank, who in 1913 was accused and convicted of raping and murdering a 13-year-old employee, Mary Phagan.
Brookshaw appeared in Craig Revel Horwood’s revival of Hot Mikado at the Watermill Theatre, was a vocalist in the dance musical Shoes at Sadler’s Wells and was last seen in the West End in Cabaret and Blood Brothers.
He is joined in the cast of Parade by Laura Pitt-Pulford (Lucille Frank, Leo’s wife), Simon Bailey (Tom Watson), Mark Inscoe (Hugh Dorsey), Kelly Agbowu, Jessica Bastick-Vines, Michael Cotton, Terry Doe, Natalie Green, David Haydn, Abiona Omonua, Philip Rham, Samantha Seager, Victoria Serra and Samuel J Weir.
Laura Pitt-Pulford recently played Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls at Salisbury Playhouse. Her other roles include Lola in Craig Revel Horwood’s revival of Copacabana (Watermill Theatre) and Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard (Watermill Theatre and Comedy Theatre).
Simon Bailey‘s stage roles include Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera, Lieutenant Torasso/Count Ludovic in Passion (Donmar Warehouse) and Enjolras in Les Miserables. He also understudied the role of Galileo in We Will Rock You.
Mark Inscoe‘s theatre credits include Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert The Musical (Palace Theatre), the original cast of La Cage Aux Folles (Menier Chocolate Factory) and Dean Martin in The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas.
