Peppa Pig's Party - Criterion Theatre
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
FOLLOWING a successful UK tour, Peppa Pig’s Party will continue at the West End’s Criterion Theatre, where it will run in the daytime slot from November 30 to January 2, 2011.
Peppa is a playful little pig who lives with her brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. Through everyday adventures, she plays games, makes new friends and enjoys her favourite activity – jumping up and down in muddy puddles.
However, Peppa Pig’s Party is about a very special day – Peppa Pig’s birthday, the ideal time for her young friends Suzy Sheep, Danny Dog and Emily Elephant to join her for the perfect party.
Adapted for stage from the BAFTA Award-winning TV series, Peppa Pig’s Party uses puppets operated by actors who remain on stage, providing their voices and performing alongside them.
The show’s co-producer, Edward Snape, who also produces the Criterion Theatre’s current show, The 39 Steps, said:
“After a virtually sold out theatre tour to almost 80 theatres across the UK, Peppa Pig and her friends are now coming to the West End for Christmas … Her stage show features train rides, cake baking and plenty of games for everyone to take part. With lots of brand new Peppa Pig songs and plenty of muddy puddles this is the one party in Westminster that Peppa Pig wants us to join!”
