Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

THIS DECEMBER, the London Palladium will host two unique shows for the festive season – Rick Stein Live (Monday, December 9) and Abba Mania (Monday, December 16, 2013).

Rick Stein will bring his travels to life in a two-hour culinary journey, preparing a mouth-watering array of dishes and captivating the audience with stories and footage from his various TV series. As well as hightlights from his most recent series from India, Stein will share tips and favourite recipes for the Christmas season.

Rick Stein OBE has attained both popularity and acclaim for his numerous TV cookery series and documentaries. He has written 19 cookery books and made 15 cooking programmes broadcast in the UK and across the world. He owns four restaurants in the small Cornish fishing village of Padstow and is a co-owner of Rick Stein At Bannisters with his wife, Sarah, in Mollymook Australia.

His unbound enthusiasm for all things culinary has taken him from continent to continent in search of the very best produce the world has to offer.

Abba Mania is the number one tribute show to the world’s number one pop group – Abba, recreating on stage the last ever live concert by the Swedish disco sensations in 1979.

This show is a spectacular musical event bringing to life the flamboyance of the 70s era – with vibrant costumes, extravagant lighting and all the endearing memories of the band that took over the disco world. Abba fans old and new can enjoy such dance-inducing hits as Mamma Mia, Voulez Vous, Dancing Queen, Waterloo, The Winner Takes It All, and many more.

Abba Mania has been delighting audiences of all ages across the UK and around the world since its formation in 1999. In 2002, it played an incredible 18 weeks in London’s West End. To date it has also played in France, Holland, Luxembourg, Venezuela, Denmark, Tahiti, Singapore and the homeland of Abba – Sweden. In 2009, Abba Mania set about cracking the USA and after an amazing reaction to their 30-date debut tour they were instantly rebooked for further dates in 2010 and 2012.
