Scholastica - Little Angel Theatre

Scholastica and the Creation of the Benedictine Rule

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

PRESENTED by Christopher Leith’s LittleStage as part of the visitors season at the Little Angel Theatre, Scholastica and the Creation of the Benedictine Rule runs from June 6 to June 7, 2008.

Accompanied by Gregorian chant, beautifully carved puppets describe a momentous meeting between St Benedict and his twin sister St Scholastica as he strives to put the finishing touches to the Rule…and learns the importance of compassion to an ordered life.

Described as a powerful piece of music-drama exploring the foundation of Western monasticism by the creation of the Rule of St Benedict, the climax is both powerful and moving, tapping into the ancient traditions of the miracle play.

Suitable for adults and children over the age of 13.

Tickets: £10 adults, £8 concessions.

Time: 8pm.
