Southbank Centre - Christmas Shows for 2009

THE SOUTHBANK Centre has five shows lined up for Christmas 2009.
Sandi Toksvig’s Christmas Cracker with Ronnie Corbett and special guests – Tuesday, December 15 to Thursday, December 24 (Royal Festival Hall).
This action packed show includes Christmas carol sing-alongs, comedy legend Ronnie Corbett, hilarious panto starring famous guests and a delightful dose of Dickensian drama, written and directed by actress and Fascinating Aida comedienne Dillie Keane.
Suitable for all ages.
Peter and the Wolf Live on Stage – Monday, December 28 and Tuesday, December 29 (Royal Festival Hall).
Following its sold-out debut at the Royal Festival Hall earlier this year, the stunningly beautiful Oscar-winning film returns as a magical theatrical experience for the whole family.
Featuring live performance from the Philharmonia Orchestra and based on one of the most popular pieces of classical music for children, Peter and the Wolf Live on Stage is a perfect way to introduce children to classical music and the orchestra.
Suitable for all ages.
The Lost Voice – Saturday, December 19 to Sunday, January 3, 2010 (Spirit Level at Royal Festival Hall).
Join Whisper, a shy little girl with hardly enough voice to be heard, on her wild journey to find her voice in a production full of noise, song and live beatboxing.
Suitable for ages four to eight.
Into the Hoods – Wednesday, December 16 to Sunday, January 10, 2010 (Queen Elizabeth Hall).
Described as a fabulous fusion of fairy tales, groovy tunes and wicked dance moves, created and performed by ZooNation, Into the Hoods follows two children as they meet Lil Red, an aspiring singer, greedy producer Wolf, rapper Rap-en-Zel and DJ Spinderella.

Ennio Marchetto – Friday, December 11 to Tuesday, December 22 (Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall).
The award-winning quick-change artist returns to the Southbank Centre with his special Christmas show, revolutionising the art of origami into theatrical magic with his superb paper costumes and split-second transformations.
Suitable for all ages.
