Previously Posted: Although cancelled in 2009, the UK tour of is going ahead this year and kicks off at New Wimbledon Theatre, where it runs from May 29 to June 5, 2010.

Monty Python’s Spamalot is “lovingly ripped-off” from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.

It’s the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail. With typical Monty Python humour, it features dancing divas, flatulent Frenchmen, killer rabbits, a legless knight and a whole lot more…..

Book and lyrics are by Eric Idle with a Grammy Award-winning score by Eric Idle and John Du Prez.

As yet, casting for the touring production has not been announced. The London production, which ran at the Palace Theatre from October 16, 2006 (previews from September 30) until January 3, 2009, boasted an illustrious line up of actors playing King Arthur – Simon Russell Beale, Peter Davison, Alan Dale and Sanjeev Bhaskar.

Following Wimbledon, the tour continues to Nottingham and Southampton, with further dates to be announced.
