Previously Posted: Amanda Holden will lead the cast in Richard Harris’ stage adaptation of Stepping Out, which visits Richmond Theatre (October 24 to October 29, 2016) as part of a short UK tour.

Stepping Out charts the lives of seven women and one man who are attempting to tap their troubles away at a weekly dancing class. Intially all thumbs and left feet, the group is just getting to grips with the basics when they are asked to take part in a charity gala.

Although Amanda Holden is probably best known as a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, she has previously appeared on stage as Princess Fiona in the original West End production of Shrek the Musical. She also played the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie and for her performance was nominated for an Olivier Award.

On television, she appeared as Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008) and more recently, has presented various television shows for ITV including Superstar (2012), This Morning (2014–2015) and Give a Pet a Home (2015).

In Stepping Out, Holden will be joined by Angela Griffin (Waterloo Road, One Man, Two Guvnors) and Nicola Stephenson (Waterloo Road, War Horse), with further casting to be announced.

Stepping Out will be directed by three time Olivier-Award winner Maria Friedman, whose directing credits include Merrily We Roll Along (Menier Chocolate Factory and West End) and High Society (The Old Vic).

A West End transfer is expected.
