Stomp is described as a movement of bodies, objects, sounds – even abstract ideas – with the cast using everyday objects in non-traditional ways. Which means boots, dustbin lids, garbage, zippo lighters, plumbers’ plungers and a whole lot more are employed to hammer out a symphony.
In its 100-minute duration, there’s no speech, no dialogue, not even a plot…..
Stomp originated in Brighton in 1991, has previously played at the Roundhouse and Sadler’s Wells, and has toured worldwide. It opened at the Vaudeville Theatre almost five years ago – on September 25, 2002. In total, it has been seen by more than ten million people.
