MICHAEL Pennington will perform Sweet William, his vivid interpretation of the life and work of William Shakespeare, in Trafalgar Studio 2 – from February 4 to February 16, 2008.
Drawing on forty years of experience with leading companies and in the West End, Pennington celebrates the rich diversity of Shakespeare’s vision, giving voice to a wealth of characters – young and old; rich and poor; comic and tragic; male and female – and demonstrates the continuing relevance of Sweet William to our everyday lives.
Pennington’s career on stage and screen spans five decades. His theatre credits include The Bargain (UK tour), Little Nell (Theatre Royal Bath), The Best of Friends (Hampstead Theatre and UK Tour), The Cosmonaut’s Last Message to the Woman He Once Loved in the Former Soviet Union (Donmar Warehouse), The Madness of George III, The Seagull, What The Butler Saw (UK Tour), lead role in Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens for the RSC, Hamlet, The Winter’s Tale and Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde (Gielgud Theatre).
His television credits include Trial and Retribution, Holby City, Silent Witness, The Bill, Waking the Dead, Dinosaur Hunters and Dalziel and Pascoe.
