Tales from the Shed - Spring 2016 Season
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
TALES from the Shed, Chickenshed’s hugely popular interactive performances for children aged 0-7 years, returns to the Southgate venue for a spring run – every Friday from January 22 to March 18 at 11.30am and every Saturday from January 23 to March 19 at 10am and 11.30pm (excluding Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5).
Tales from the Shed takes children and performers on a theatrical journey together, meeting characters such as Can-Can the beautiful bird, and The Thing That Goes Blurgh on the way!
Each show is different, but all shows creatively help to improve literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
Tales from the Shed uses theatre driven by the children’s imaginations. Since 1996 the Tales team have collected and created numerous stories, songs and characters. These are delivered using puppets, humans and bags of energy all underpinned by the belief that children are the most creative and demanding audience and deserve proper big theatre!
The Tales from the Shed format allows the Tales team to react to the children’s thoughts, experiences and requests and to use them within the show. Which means no two shows are ever the same.
