The Atheist - Lion and Unicorn Theatre
Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
THE ATHEIST, Ronan Noone’s satirical play about catching the perfect front-page headline, whatever the cost, runs at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre from November 8 (previews from November 6) to November 24, 2012.
The Atheist follows the story of a cynical US news reporter, clawing his way up the journalistic hierarchy from trailer trash roots to notoriety and celebrity.
Augustine Early is a crooked journalist who has made an art of clawing his way up the professional ladder. When he turns a politician’s tawdry predilections into front page news, the scandal threatens to undo the one person he thought was immune.
Veteran actor/director Hugh Ross (RSC, National Theatre) directs Jonathan Chambers in what is described as a searing and hilarious play.
Tickets: £15/£12 – available from the box office on 08444 77 1000 or online at www.ticketweb.co.uk.
Times: Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, Saturday matinee at 3.30pm.
