The Ladykillers will not extend in West End
Story by Jack Foley
THE Ladykillers will not extend beyond its current booking period in the West End although it may return at a later date.
Graham Linehan’s critically acclaimed stage adaptation will depart the Gielgud Theatre on April 14, 2012.
But producer Edward Snape, in an interview with The Stage, did offer hope of a return by saying that the production could be back in the West End “at some point after the summer”, obviously after The Olympics.
And he was delighted to announce that the show had recouped its £750,000 costs just six weeks after opening.
The classic Ealing comedy stars Peter Capaldi, James Fleet, Ben Miller, Marcia Warren, Stephen Wight and Clive Rowe and is directed by Sean Foley.
