Previously Posted: Casting has been announced for the UK premiere of Will Eno’s award-winning play The Open House, directed by former Artistic Director of the RSC, Michael Boyd.

The production will run at the Ustinov Studio from November 23 to December 23, 2017, before transferring to Notting Hill’s Print Room at the Coronet from January 18 to February 17, 2018.

In Eno’s signature, inimitable style, The Open House offers a wildly subversive and darkly hilarious take on the archetypal family drama.

Son and Daughter have come home to celebrate their Mother and Father’s wedding anniversary, but the atmosphere is strained and the dog is nowhere to be seen. Just as they hit stalemate things start to take a very unexpected turn…

The production stars Teresa Banham as Mother, Greg Hicks as Father, Lindsey Campbell as Daughter, Crispin Letts as Uncle and Ralph Davis as Son.

Teresa Banham’s extensive theatre credits include A Chorus of Disapproval (West End), Heresy of Love and Measure for Measure (RSC), The Father (Chichester Festival), and Snake in the Grass (Old Vic). She has also appeared on television in Vera, Poirot: The Big Four and Silent Witness.

Greg Hicks recently starred in the title role in Richard III at the Arcola Theatre. His other stage credits include The Tempest, All’s Well That Ends Well, Hamlet, The Winter’s Tale and Julius Caesar all for the RSC. His television work includes Burton & Taylor, The Bible and Waking the Dead.

Lindsey Campbell’s previous work for Ustinov Studio includes Right Now, The Harvest and The Big Meal. Her recent screen credits include Silent Witness and Pumped.

Crispin Letts’ stage credits include The Entertainer (West End), The Servant (Lyric Hammersmith), An Inspector Calls (West End) and Othello, Wind in the Willows and Machine Wreckers (National Theatre).

Ralph Davis is a recent RADA graduate. His credits while training include The Winter’s Tale, A Little Night Music, Macbeth and The Oresteia. He has also recently starred in King Lear at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Will Eno’s Broadway debut play, The Realistic Joneses, was the winner of a Drama Desk Special Award. Other writing credits include The Open House (Off-Broadway), which won the Obie Award for Playwriting, and most recently Wakey, Wakey (Off-Broadway).

Michael Boyd’s directing credits for Ustinov Studio include Right Now, The Harvest and The Big Meal. His other recent directing credits include The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures (Hampstead Theatre) and Tamburlaine (Broadway). He was formerly Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

The Open House follows the hugely successful Trouble in Mind, starring Tanya Moodie and directed by Laurence Boswell, which transferred from Theatre Royal Bath to Print Room at the Coronet earlier this year.
