The Rocky Horror Show - casting announced

Oliver Thornton as Frank ‘n’ Furter

Casting Update

OLIVER Thornton (as Frank ‘n’ Furter) will lead the cast in the 40th Anniversary production of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show, which visits New Wimbledon Theatre (January 21 to January 26) and Richmond Theatre (May 6 to May 11, 2013) as part of a UK tour.

Joining Thornton will be double-platinum selling artist, Rhydian (The X Factor, We Will Rock You, Grease) as Rocky; Roxanne Pallett (Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, Dancing on Ice) as Janet; and Ben Forster (winner of ITV1’s Superstar, who went on to play the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar) as Brad.

The Rocky Horror Show tells the story of Brad and his fiancée Janet, two squeaky clean college kids who meet Dr Frank’n’Furter by chance when their car breaks down outside his house whilst on their way to visit their former college professor.

It’s an adventure they’ll never forget, one filled with fun, frolics, frocks, and frivolity, plus timeless songs (Science Fiction/Double Feature, Dammit Janet, The Time-Warp) and outrageous outfits.

Directed by Christopher Luscombe, The Rocky Horror Show famously combines science-fiction, horror, comedy and music and encourages audience participation – and that includes fancy dress (the more outrageous the better)!

Oliver Thornton’s West End credits include Children of Eden Charity Gala (Prince of Wales Theatre), Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Palace Theatre), Rent (Duke of York’s Theatre), The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre), Les Misérables (Palace and Queens Theatres) and Chicago (Adelphi Theatre). He has also appeared in the films Godforsaken and De-Lovely.
