The Secret Garden transfers to Greenwich Theatre

FOLLOWING a successful run at the King’s Head Theatre, Aria Entertainment and Knockhardy Productions’ concert revival of Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman’s musical, The Secret Garden, will transfer to Greenwich Theatre for one night only – Friday, April 12, 2013 – as part of the Greenwich children’s theatre festival.

Alexander Evans, recently on Broadway in the US production of Masterclass, will continue in his role as Archibald Craven. Rachael McCormick (Mrs Corny in Cameron Mackintosh’s Oliver!) and Jordan Lee Davies (Into The Woods, St David’s Hall) will play Martha and Dickon respectively.

The cast will also include Zoe Curlett (Cosette in Les Misérables and Christine in The Phantom of the Opera) as Lily; Zac Donovan (son of Jason Donovon) as Colin Craven; and Ana Martin as Mary Lennox.

They will be joined by Ross Barnes (A Winter’s Tale, Landor Theatre), Robert Dalton (Save the Last Dance, UK Tour), Martin Dickinson (Jekyll & Hyde, UK Tour), Natalie Douglas (Steel Pier, Union Theatre), Wesley Dow (When Harry Met Barry, Above the Stag), Joanna Eliot (Let There Be, Riverside Studios), Fiona Finsbury (The Young Ones, Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch), Mona Goodwin (Spring Awakening, Lyric Hammersmith/West End), Matthew Hendrickson (Feathers In The Snow, Southwark Playhouse), Matthew Ronchetti (A Winter’s Tale, Landor Theatre) and Pippa Winslow (Old Goat Song, Lion & Unicorn).

When Mary Lennox is orphaned, she must return from India to live with her distant uncle in Yorkshire. With a blossoming friendship with local boy Dickon, Mary begins to take an interest in the mysterious house in which she now lives and is entranced by the garden – but can she unlock the secrets that are held within?

With music by Lucy Simon, and book and lyrics by Marsha Norman, The Secret Garden: In Concert will be directed by Matthew Gould and have musical direction by David Keefe. The cast will be announced shortly.

Aria Entertainment and Knockhardy Productions, the team behind The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Arts Theatre) and The Children of Eden Gala Concert (Prince Edward Theatre), will bring the three times Tony
Award-winning musical, The Secret Garden, to life in an intimate concert.
