Theatre on the Tea Lawn: Private Lives - Lauderdale House

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

THIS July, Shooting Stars Theatre Company are returing to Lauderdale House for the 6th year for Theatre on the Tea Lawn and this year’s show will be Noël Coward’s classic comedy of passion, romance, anger, laughter and love, Private Lives.

I think very few people are completely normal really deep down in their private lives.

When divorced couple Amanda and Elyot find themselves unwittingly thrown together whilst on honeymoon with their respective new spouses, the stage is set for a battle of the sexes.

Noël Coward’s play is described as witty, dry and playful, and sparkling with his wicked humour.

Ticketed evening performances of Private Lives will take place on the Tea Lawn outside Lauderdale House. Audience members can bring a picnic and relax on the grass whilst enjoying the wit and wisdom of one of England’s most famous playwrights.

Joe Sargent from Shooting Stars said: “We’ve now been performing at Lauderdale House for so many years it feels like our second home. And Theatre on The Tea Lawn is certainly a highlight of the tour!”
