IMOGEN Stubbs is returning to Trafalgar Studios to star in Ian Talbot’s production of Dermot Canavan’s Third Finger, Left Hand, which runs from April 3 to April 27, 2013.
Third Finger, Left Hand tells the story of Niamh and Grace, two estranged sisters who come together following their mother’s death to reminisce over a box of old photographs.
Based on actor and writer Dermot Canavan’s own experiences, the play tells a deeply moving story of growing up in the 1970s, exploring the siblings’ journey from their harsh and violent upbringing to the dance clubs of the emerging Northern Soul scene where they find their exhilarating escape.
As well as the Olivier Award nominated Salt, Root And Roe at Trafalgar Studios, Stubbs‘ theatre credits include Hamlet (Old Vic), Little Eyolf (Jermyn Street Theatre), Private Lives (Manchester Royal Exchange), Shared Experience’s The Glass Menagerie (Salisbury Playhouse) and Michael Frayn’s Alphabetical Order (Hampstead Theatre).
Joining Stubbs in Third Finger, Left Hand is Amanda Daniels, who returns to the role of Grace following her award-winning performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She has also appeared on stage in Shivered (Southwark Playhouse) and on television in EastEnders and Doc Martin.
During his 20 years as Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Ian Talbot’s directing credits include A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Babes in Arms, Lady Be Good, The Fantasticks, Kiss Me Kate and High Society. Since his departure in 2007, his credits include Lend Me A Tenor The Musical (Gielgud Theatre).
