Third Floor - Trafalgar Studio 2

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

CRAIG Gazey and Emily Head star in Jason Hall’s new thriller Third Floor, which runs in Trafalgar Studio 2 from October 11 to November 5, 2011.

When a young woman buys her first flat it seems that all her dreams are coming true. Then she meets him. Overbearing, brash, and prone to spectacular gaffs, her across-the-hall neighbour is definitely strange – yet strangely attractive.

But when an innocent prank goes horribly wrong the newly-formed friendship is pushed to breaking point. Only then do the neighbours realise they don’t know as much about each other as they thought they did.

Although Gazey has worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared in Richard Bean’s Harvest at the Royal Court Theatre, he is probably best known for his three year stint as Coronation Street‘s Graeme Proctor.

Head, daughter of actor Anthony Head, is familiar to viewers of the hugely popular E4 comedy drama The Inbetweeners and the subsequent film adaptation which is currently in cinemas.

Third Floor is directed by Russell Labey, who previously directed his own adaptation of New Boy at Trafalgar Studios.

Labey, who won the TMA Award for Best New Musical for Whistle Down the Wind, which he directed and adapted, was also resident director on Sunset Boulevard and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. His other credits include Discotivity and Days of Hope.

Betwixt! continues in Trafalgar Studio 2 until September 10, 2011. It will be followed – from September 14 to October 8, 2011 – by When Did You Last See My Mother?.
