Three Sisters - Jack Studio Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

ARROWS & Traps Theatre are presenting Ross McGregor’s new version of Anton Chekov’s Three Sisters at the Jack Studio Theatre – from Tuesday, March 20 to Saturday, April 14, 2018.

In a rural backwater, three sisters dream of a better life and of returning to the Moscow of their childhood. Irina longs for purpose, Masha for passion and Olga for some peace.

Set across four life-defining years, Chekhov’s tragicomic masterpiece explores the hopes, loves and sacrifices of three brilliant young women and the people they encounter. When society is falling apart at the seams, can people still go on living, loving and laughing?

Seven-time Offie-Nominated Arrows & Traps Theatre bring a contemporary sensibility and a bold, energetic new staging to this riveting and beloved classic.

The cast includes Susan Baskerville (as Anfisa), Cornelia Baumann (Olga), Claire Bowman (Masha), Freddie Cambanakis (Rode), Ashley Cavender (Fedotik), Victoria Llewellyn (Irina), Stephen MacNeice (Kulygin), Conor Moss (Tuzenbach), Spencer Lee Osborne (Andrei), Pearce Sampson (Solyony), Allan Stirland (Ferapont), Hannah Victory (Natasha), Andrew Wickes (Chebutykin) and Toby Wynn-Davies (Vershinin).

Three Sisters is directed by Ross McGregor, with movement direction by Will Pinchin, lighting by Ben Jacobs, musical direction by Elliot Clay and sound by Alistair Lax. Assistant director is Beatrice Vincent.
