Angry Young Man/The Explorer – January 8 to February 2, 2008.
Angry Young Man, which was first seen at the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe, is about Yuri, a brilliant Eastern European surgeon who arrives in London in search of work and a new life. While the world premiere production of The Explorer follows the travels of a Victorian gentleman with a very dark secret.
NB: Due to cast illness, this double bill has postponed its opening by four days – until January 14, 2008.
The second production – Sweet William – runs from February 4 to February 16, 2008.
Sweet William is devised and performed by Michael Pennington whose credits include numerous seasons at the RSC. He has also performed leading Shakespearean roles worldwide with the English Shakespeare Company, which he co-founded with director Michael Bogdanov in 1986.
Sweet William, a one-man show, is Pennington’s own interpretation of Shakespeare’s life and work.
