Richard Wilson in Twelfth Night

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

THE RSC is presenting two fun-filled family events this February alongside Gregory Doran’s production of Twelfth Night, which is currently playing at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

Shakespeare Unwrapped – Saturday, February 6 from 11am – 12pm.

Join members of the Acting Company and Creative Team on the Duke of York’s stage as they demonstrate some of the skills that go into creating a production.

The Assistant Director and actors will actively approach the characters and themes of the play and consider how the design of the production shapes the performance. Participants will have an exciting peek into the rehearsal room and learn the creative process of a theatrical production.

Tickets: £5. Suitable for ages 12 and over.

Family Day – Saturday, February 20 from 11am to 12pm.

A unique opportunity for families to explore the story of the play and the theatre making process with members of the Company and Creative Team who will actively explore the plot and characters, thereby giving young people an understanding of the story before seeing the play itself.

This event is suitable for young people aged 7 and over and their parents or guardians. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets: £4 per adult and £2 per child plus matinee ticket.

Twelfth Night transferred to the West End following a sell-out run in Stratford-upon-Avon, with Richard Wilson making his RSC debut as Malvolio. Joining him as the irrepressible duo Sir Andrew Aguecheek and Sir Toby Belch are James Fleet and Richard McCabe.

Twelfth Night is directed by RSC Chief Associate Director Gregory Doran, whose recent work includes A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet with David Tennant.
