Twelve Angry Men - Tom Conti joins cast
ON MARCH 31, 2014, Olivier and Tony award-winning Tom Conti will take over the role of Juror Number 8 in Twelve Angry Men, which has extended its booking period at the Garrick Theatre for a third time – currently until June 14, 2014.
Conti takes over from Martin Shaw in the role made famous by Henry Fonda in the 1957 Oscar nominated Hollywood film.
In this classic courtroom drama, twelve jurors must decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father. But what appears to be an open and shut case soon becomes a huge dilemma as prejudices and pre-conceived ideas about the accused, the trial and each other turn the tables every which way, until the nail-biting climax.
Conti’s stage credits include Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell, Whose Life Is It anyway? for which he won an Olivier, Tony and Variety Club Award for Best Actor, Jesus My Boy and Art in the West End; and The Real Thing and One Helluva Life on tour.
His film credits include Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence, Reuben, Reuben for which he was Oscar-nominated, and Shirley Valentine.
