Casting news

JACOB Chapman will play the villainous failed-opera-singer-come-theatre-manager, Robin Pocketts, during the month-long West End run of USHERS: The Front of House Musical at Charing Cross Theatre.

Chapman’s previous West End credits include playing the rebel leader in We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre) and Combeferre and understudy Jean Valjean in Les Miserables (Queens Theatre).

For director Thom Southerland his leading roles included Tom Collins in Rent, The Mikado in The Mikado, Charlie Davenport in Annie Get Your Gun and Henri in Carnival of the Animals.

The returning cast are: Daniel Buckley, Ceris Hine, Ross McNeill, Liam Ross-Mills and Carly Thoms.

Set in the West End theatre hosting Oops! I Did It Again, The Britney Spears Musical, USHERS: The Front of House Musical follows a working shift in the lives of the stagiest people in the theatre – the front of house staff.

It portrays the hilarious, ridiculous and frequently moving stories of ice-cream and programme sellers who dare to dream, including a three-year workplace romance that is on the rocks, an untrained newbie working her first shift and the amorous manager who is under pressure to cut costs. What could possibly go wrong?

Following its success in the late night slot, USHERS: The Front of House Musical is now getting a month-long West End residency as the main show at Charing Cross Theatre, where it runs from Tuesday, May 13 to Saturday, June 7, 2014.
