Viva Forever! extends booking period

VIVA Forever!, the new musical based on the songs of the Spice Girls, has extended its booking period at the Piccadilly Theatre by eight months – until February 15, 2014.

Previously Posted: Full casting has been announced for Viva Forever!, the new musical based on the songs of the Spice Girls, which opens at the Piccadilly Theatre on December 11, 2012, with previews from November 27.

Leading the cast as Lauren and Viva, the mother and daughter at the heart of the story, are Sally Ann Triplett (Mamma Mia!, Chicago, Oliver!) and newcomer Hannah John-Kamen.

And playing Viva’s three best friends are Siobhan Athwal as Luce, Lucy Phelps as Diamond and Dominique Provost-Chalkey as Holly.

Joining them are Lucy Montgomery (Absolutely Fabulous, The IT Crowd) as Lauren’s best friend Suzi; RSC veteran Simon Slater as Mitch, another friend; and Bill Ward (Coronation Street, Spamalot, Million Dollar Quartet), Sally Dexter (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Sister Act, Oliver!) and Tamara Wall (EastEnders) as the TV talent show judges.

They in turn are joined by newcomers Ben Cura as Angel, the musical director of the TV talent show and Hatty Preston as production assistant Minty; as well as Simon Adkins as the stylist Leon and Anthony Topham as the presenter Lance.

Ensemble members are Tom Kanavan, Zak Nemorin, Curtis Angus, Luke Jackson, Oliver Roll, David Rudin, Darren Carnall, Myles Brown, Charlotte Gorton, Rebecca McKinnis, Lucy Thatcher, Roxanne Palmer, Charlotte Walcott, Sophie Carmen-Jones, Carla Nella, Kirstie Skivington and Helen Ternent.

The show opens the day after Viva and her friends have successfully entered a TV talent competition. The group progress to the final rounds, but Viva is selected on her own, leaving her with a tough decision to make – will she stay with her group of friends or will she chase her dreams?

Set in contemporary London and Spain, Viva Forever! deals with the relationship between mother and daughter.

Viva Forever! is produced by Mamma Mia!‘s Judy Craymer and has a book by comedian Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous, French & Saunders). Paul Garrington directs.
