West End Recast - Tracie Bennett joins cast

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

TRACIE Bennett (Hairspray, End of the Rainbow), Michael Matus (The Sound of Music, Taboo), Katie Rowley Jones (Wicked, Sister Act) and Gareth Snook (The Phantom of the Opera, Blood Brothers) comple the line-up for West End Recast.

Previously Posted: For one night only (Sunday, March 16, 2014), some of the West End’s finest stars of musical theatre will be performing songs from roles they have always wanted to sing but will never be cast in.

Perhaps they are too old or too young, the wrong sex or not the right race, too blonde or not quite the right shape. However, West End Recast has no boundaries! They can be whoever they want and sing what they want. The sopranos can sing bass, the boys can be girls and juniors can be seniors…

Presenting their unique renditions of songs from Wicked, Sweeney Todd, Rent, Dreamgirls, A Chorus Line, La Cage Aux Folles and many more will be Simon Bailey, Daniel Boys, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Holder, Leon Lopez, Jon Robyns, Frances Ruffelle, Jenna Russell and Emma Williams to name but a few.

West End Recast, described as a rare opportunity to witness the musical theatre impossible, is directed by Adam Lensen, whose credits include Ordinary Days (Trafalgar Studios), Little Fish and Saturn Returns (Finborough Theatre).

Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense is currently playing at the Duke of York’s Theatre.
