Wicked will fly into its 7th year as the 18th longest-running West End musical of all time. The London production of the global musical phenomenon has now been seen by almost five million theatregoers since its West End premiere in 2006.

UK Executive Producer Michael McCabe commented:

“As Wicked enters its 7th year and celebrates 2500 spellbinding performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, we continue to be indebted and immensely grateful to everybody involved in the show. It is through their passion, commitment and effort during every performance that we have been able to give almost five million theatregoers an unforgettable live theatre experience”.

“A major hit with audiences and critics alike” (BBC News), Wicked continues to be the top choice of UK theatregoers having been voted London’s Most Popular Show (2010 Olivier Award), Best Night Out (2011 Evening Standard Theatre Award), Best West End Show (2011 and 2010 Awards) and Best New Musical (2007 Awards). Wicked also received a prestigious Visit London ‘People’s Choice’ Gold Award in 2009.

Based on Wicked – The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire that re-imagined the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students.

Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda, The Good and Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of the West.

Wicked has music and lyrics by Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman and is directed by two-time Tony Award-winner and Olivier Award nominee Joe Mantello.

Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone. UK Executive Producer is Michael McCabe.
