Katie Holmes to make Broadway debut
Story and preview by Jack Foley
KATIE Holmes makes her Broadway debut in All My Sons, a groundbreaking new production of Arthur Miller’s Tony Award-winning classic play co-starring Tony Award-winner John Lithgow, Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest and Tony Award nominee Patrick Wilson.
Directed by acclaimed British star Simon McBurney, All My Sons follows the story of Joe and Kate Keller, who lost their eldest son three years ago in the war.
Kate, however, cannot give up believing that he is still alive, while Chris, their only surviving son, has fallen in love with his brother’s fiancée Ann, and brings her to the Keller home to tell his parents of their new relationship and their plans to marry.
In the confrontation that follows, cracks begin to appear in everyone’s stories, lies are exposed, and a secret is revealed that could destroy them all.
All My Sons is a strictly limited engagement of Arthur Miller’s thought-provoking play about the American dream, and the price we pay to keep it alive.
It’s playing at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, in New York, from September 18, 2008 to January 11, 2009.
