THE complete first season of the irreverent, witty and critically
acclaimed Sky One TV series, Dead Like Me, will be available to
buy as a DVD box set from Monday, June 20.
Dead Like Me centres on a disaffected 18-year old woman who
is suddenly killed when a toilet seat from the MIR space station
hurtles to Earth and hits her in the head.
Georgia Lass is surprised to discover that an afterlife does
exist, and that she’s already been assigned a for the Pacific
Northwest chapter of grim reapers.
Initiated into this secretive society of soul collectors, George
eventually comes to terms with the ghoulish duties with which
she has been assigned with the help of her new boss, Rube, a 'reaper'
who plucks the souls of the living and escort them to their eternal
reward.
She must, however, reconcile certain unresolved issues which
still linger from her life among the living before she is allowed
to 'move on'.

What Georgia experiences beyond death
is the focus of this darkly comedic series, which takes a slightly
twisted look at life and at one possible version of life in the
after life.
What if death is not the end? What if it is not even an escape
from the issues that plagued us? What if it is not a way to avoid
accountability, but an opportunity to accept responsibility? What
if it is a wake-up call?
Starring Ellen Muth (Dolores Claiborne) and Mandy Patinkin (The
Princess Bride), Dead Like Me is rich in wonderfully dark, twisted
wit.
A box set to die for, the four-disc release retails at £39.99
and includes: Disc 1: Pilot Episode
VAM: Audio commentary by the cast; 30 Minutes of Deleted Scenes;
