Story by Jack Foley |
CALLING all women! CAKE, the first entertainment company dedicated to promoting
female sexual culture, has announced the official launch of CAKE.LONDON -
the UK equivalent of the New York phenomenon.
After a hugely successful debut event last month, at which the art of striptease
was laid bare for women of all ages, CAKE is to present the first CLUB.CAKE
event on November 20 in a female-focused environment, where women and their
partners can explore sensual, sexuality-themed entertainment.
The CAKE Porn.Party is designed to find out what turns CAKE.London girls
on; what they think about while watching erotic movies - or while getting
a lap dance...
It is a chance to take away the taboo and the forbidden, to create a sexual
culture for women in the UK that is demystified and brought into the open.
To help achieve this, CAKE has combed through countless hours of 'porn' -
from 70's classic kitsch, to the glossy productions of the late 90's - to
produce a hand-picked reel that will be screened exclusively at the Porn.Party,
while CLUB.CAKE dancers will be on hand, providing highly interactive entertainment
for all.
PORN.PARTY - 'It's getting hot in here
' takes place from 8pm to 1am
at 54 The Great Eastern Dining Rooms, 54 Great Eastern Street, EC2, and will
also feature a VIP lap dancing lounge, featuring the CLUB.CAKE Dancers, free
sexy giveaways, fab female DJs, and multi-sensory visual stimulation.
The dress code states that women should be 'superfly and super sexy underneath'
and entrance costs £10 for men and £5 for women. It is free to
women with the CAKE.CARD (details of which are available by visiting the CAKE.LONDON
website using the link above). All men must be accompanied by a woman and
interested parties should RSVP to www.cakelondon.com
(As a special treat to CAKE.CARD holders - the first lapdance is on CAKE!)
CLUB.CAKE has been running in New York City for the past two years, catering
to an upscale and professional female clientele, and is now the hottest ticket
in town, attracting crowds of over 1,000 with celebrity, music, fashion. Media
attendees have included Johnny Knoxville (Jackass), Chloe Sevigny, Famke Jansen,
Pharrell Williams, Vincent Gallo, and Moby.
As the definitive source on female sexual culture in America, CAKE has found
that women want to be turned on visually, intellectually, and physically -
enjoying sexually explicit imagery, fantasy and everything else in between.
"Whereas men have a tremendous variety of sexual entertainment and material
created for their enjoyment, many women have not had the opportunity to explore
their sexuality in a comfortable environment," explains Melinda Gallagher,
CAKE co-founder.
"CAKE provides this space. Only through experience do we figure out what
we want, what we like and what we don't. At CAKE events, women are in control
of our sexuality and that is the way it should always be."
CAKE is seeking to spread a global message to promote women's pleasure. After
much anticipation, the CAKE phenomenon has arrived in the UK just in time
to promote female sexuality on an international scale.
As such, the first London-based event promises female-focused, women-in-charge,
sexy entertainment; in a necessary first step in discovering what UK women
WANT and examining, demystifying and documenting female sexuality today.
Melinda continues: "While 'porn' has been primarily produced by men,
for men - examining this material allows women to expand their sexual selves
and discover how visual material can be both educational, entertaining and
stimulating. We have tried to bring together material that suits the female
eye and is focused on women's pleasure."
CLUB.CAKE policy:
l CLUB.CAKE events are a female-focused space,
produced for women's pleasure. Men are welcome at all CAKE events, provided
that they are accompanied by a woman.
l CAKE offers preferred memberships to women.
The CAKE.CARD is available by application at www.CAKElondon.com.
