Story by: Jack Foley
NATIONAL Blonde Day will take place on August 1, 2003
- a celebration of all things platinum.
It is also a golden opportunity for women countrywide to shed
their brunette tresses in favour of bombshell blonde and the charity
Breast Cancer Campaign.
It is this spirit - combining sisterhood and humour - that is
the objective behind becoming blonde for charity on National Blonde
Day.
All you need to do is ask your friends and colleagues to sponsor
you to have a close encounter with a bottle of peroxide
or
if you're too shy to dye - wig it!
The proceeds of this dare will go to Breast Cancer Campaign and
you'll discover that blondes really do have more fun and also
you'll help other women in the process.

August 1 also heralds the release of Legally Blonde 2,
which finds Reese Witherspoon back as Elle Woods, the legal-eagle-brain-box-Barbie,
the ultimate blonde role model for women worldwide.
Sporting your new blonde locks, what better way to celebrate
National Blonde Day than a hefty dose of Elle Woods encouragement?
Established in 1988, Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity
that specialises in funding independent breast cancer research
throughout the UK.
Their Scientific Advisory Board of prominent experts ensures
that only top quality original research is funded by the charity,
which is currently supporting 43 research projects, worth over
£3.8 million in 20 cities across the UK.
