20th Century Fox is to release Robots: The IMAX Experience in
select IMAX cinemas, including the bfi London IMAX Cinema, from
Friday, March 18.
From the makers of the box office hit Ice Age, Robots has been
digitally re-mastered (IMAX DMR®) into the unparalleled image
and sound quality of The IMAX Experience®.
Audiences will be ‘Riveted in IMAX’ as they watch
Robots presented on a screen five storeys tall with 12,000 watts
of digital surround sound.
Robots is directed by Academy Awardâ winner Chris Wedge,
and boasts an all-star cast of contributing voices, including
Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Mel Brooks, Greg Kinnear, Drew Carey,
Jim Broadbent, Amanda Bynes and Robin Williams.
Other British names to lend their voices are Cat Deeley, Vernon
Kay, Terry Wogan, Eamonn Holmes and Chris Moyles.
Moviegoers will accompany Rodney Copperbottom (McGregor) on his
journey to Robot City to meet his idol, the majestic inventor
Bigweld (Brooks).
Once there, Rodney finds that things are not quite as he expected,
and his quest may be a lot harder than he imagined.

Robots: The IMAX Experience is the first IMAX DMR film to be
released during the Spring film season, and it is the second IMAX
DMR film Fox has distributed to IMAX cinemas.
With The IMAX Experience, moviegoers will experience this animated
adventure in a whole new way.
In fact, once the IMAX DMR process is complete, the Robots: The
IMAX Experience film format will be 10 times larger than its original,
enhancing audiences peripheral view.
The sheer size, combined with the IMAX projection technology
and remarkable sound system, will provide IMAX moviegoers with
an immersive, extraordinary cinematic experience.
The film will also open in the UK at the Science Museum IMAX
Cinema, London, IMAX Theatre-At-Bristol and Manchester IMAX, The
Printworks.
