BOND girls continue to provide fantasy figures for generation
upon generation of horny males, so it should come as little surprise
to find that the first ever Bond babe topped a poll of the sexiest
moments in screen history.
Ursula Andress was voted to have delivered the top moment in
the Channel 4 poll, for the scene in which her character, Honey
Rider, emerges from the sea, dressed in only a white bikini, in
the Bond film, Dr No.
The 67-year-old actress, who was 26 at the time, beat off stiff
competition from the likes of Sarah Michelle Gellar, George Clooney
and Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke to land the commanding position.
Second place went to Buffy: The Vampire Slayer star, Sarah Michelle
Gellar, for her lesbian kiss with Selma Blair in the film Cruel
Intentions, while Salma Hayek came third, for her erotic dance
with a snake in Robert Rodriguez’s hip vampire flick, From
Dusk Til Dawn.
The top rated male actor was George Clooney, who was nominated
with Jennifer Lopez, for Out of Sight, for a scene in which they
share a car boot during a prison escape sequence.
That moment, which also topped an Empire poll of the sexiest
non-sex moments, amazingly beat the main seduction sequence, which
has to rate among the finest put on-screen.

Commenting on the number one moment, a spokeswoman for Channel
4 said that it was ‘nice to see an iconic figure can stand
the test of time and still be the sexiest screen siren against
much younger competition’, while film critic, Bob McCabe,
said that while the outcome was surprising (particularly in terms
of how little nudity or sex actually featured in the top ten),
‘it just shows you that sexuality is about temptation’.
There were a number of surprise inclusions in the poll, which
also incorporated TV moments, including a gay sex scenes from
the Channel 4 programme, Queer as Folk, which made number seven
on the list, and cartoon temptress, Jessica Rabbit, from the film
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, who came in at number eight.
Of the classic sex scenes, Marlon Brando’s infamous butter
romp in Last Tango in Paris, as well as Michael Douglas’
extra-marital sex in Fatal Attraction, and Jack Nicholson’s
romp in The Postman Always Rings Twice, made it into the top 100.
