NOT content with being a hugely successful pop star, or kicking
off widespread US controversy for helping to expose Janet Jacksons
boob on live TV, Justin Timberlake now intends to venture into
movies - and appears to be serious about becoming a quality actor.
It has been announced that the former N Sync star, who
has been dating Cameron Diaz, has signed on to star alongside
Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman in the crime drama, Edison.

The Grammy Award
winner will play a small but pivotal role in a film about a young
journalist who uncovers a group of corrupt policemen, with Freeman
appearing as a senior reporter, who helps him, and Spacey starring
as the District Attorneys top investigator. Rapper, LL Cool
J, takes the lead role.
Timberlakes publicist, needless to say, is already talking
up how seriously his star wants to be taken as an actor, and maintains
he has spent years looking at scripts, before deciding on the
right project.
Filming on Edison is scheduled to begin at the end of February,
in Canada.
Timberlake is no stranger to movies, however, having already
appeared in the Disney teen TV movie, Model Behaviour, in 2000.
Edison will also mark the film writing and directing debut for
David J Burke, the man responsible for writing such highly-acclaimed
TV series, such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
and SeaQuest DSV.
