Goldsmiths' Fair 2011 Gallery
GOLDSMITHS’ Fair – this year from September 26 to October 9 – presents the crème de la crème of jewellery and silversmithing talent in the UK. The gilded rooms of Goldsmiths’ Hall are filled with rows of capsule boutiques each one offering a cornucopia of original jewels and stunning silver by individual designer-makers from around the country.
Ninety exhibitors take part each week, with a change over in the middle necessitating a second visit to fully appreciate the complete spectrum of creative diversity that the Fair offers. Here are a few of the exhibits….

“Orbs” brooch by Zoe Arnold. A unique brooch made from oxidised silver, 18ct gold, carved agate, rough ruby, and incorporating an antique photograph. The carved agate is particularly beautiful with star like markings on it, as though someone has dipped a watercolour paintbrush into it and the paint is radiating out across the stone. Romantic and whimsical, the brooch is based on Zoe’s poem 'moon'. The agate has a circle carved into it and through it can be glimpsed a man’s face. It took Zoe about 4 days to complete. Approx 5cm x 6cm. £1700.
