ISLAND Records Group officially released the soundtrack to the
new Richard Curtis film, Love
Actually, on November 17, 2003, to coincide with the release
of the film on November 21.
The soundtrack features songs from some of the biggest names
in pop, including Dido, Norah Jones, Texas, The Calling and Girls
Aloud, with a clutch of classics from such luminaries as Otis
Redding, Joni Mitchell and the Beach Boys.
The score is by award-winning composer Craig Armstrong also known
for his work on Moulin Rouge
and Romeo and Juliet.
In addition, it features the new Sugababes single, Too Lost
In You, which is going to be released on December 15, and
marks the second single to emerge from their acclaimed album,
Three.
Love Actually is a new romantic comedy in the tradition of Four
Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Bridget
Jones's Diary.
Set in contemporary London in the run-up to Christmas, it tells
one story which weaves together a spectacular number of love affairs
- sometimes romantic, sometimes sad, sometimes stupid - all funny
in their own way.
