AMABALA records is proud to announce the launch of its first
compilation CD, Breathe Sunshine - Chilled Electronic Beats from
Cape Town and Johannesburg, which is now available to buy, following
the links opposite.
Pushed out into the world at a packed launch event at POP nightclub
in Soho, recently, Breathe Sunshine is described as 'a
breath of fresh air into the chill-out, down-tempo music scene'.
It incorporates African rhythms, instruments and lyrics into
a broad spectrum of chill-out influences, bringing the listener
14-tracks which take them on 'an odyssey through sound unlike
any other they have encountered'.

Amabala records is a brand new independent label, based in London,
but determined to bring Africa and South African music to the
fore in the global market place.
With its international sound, great packaging and production,
Breathe Sunshine aims to be the thin end of the wedge that
brings far more music from Africa to the ears of the rest of the
world.
The album features some better-known artists such as Craigie
Dodds (well known as the Sugar Babes producer here in the UK)
and lesser-known names like Dino Sofos and the African Rhythm
Travellers.
But for that range in fame, there is surprisingly little dip
in quality. So 'Breathe in the Sunshine, you won't regret it'.
