Get Loaded in the Park!

Story: Jack Foley

THE Happy Mondays are to headline the Get Loaded In The Park Festival on Clapham Common in August for the second year in a row, it has been revealed.

Following the success of last year’s event, the organisers have decided to double the capacity of the Clapham Common site to 20,000, as well as move the date to the
August bank holiday Sunday, August 28.

In addition to the Mondays, Fatboy Slim, The Farm and Stereo MCs have all confirmed to play alongside a newly reformed Flowered Up.

Other highlights include a DJ face-off between Fatboy Slim and Armand Van Helden, who will go head to head in the Southern Fried Records Tent, as well as sets from Touche, Annie Mac, DJ Deekline, ex-Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist Mani, Clint Boon, Jeff Automatic and Xfm’s John Kennedy.

The Junior Boys Own Soundsystem will also be performing on the main stage, along with DJ sets from Elbow, Snow Patrol, The Stereo MCs and The Cuban Brothers.
