Preview: Jack Foley

STUCK for something to do this Friday night (May 16)? Well, tongue81 presents a night of live music, visuals and DJ sets as part of the EMMA festival at The Space Arts Centre in Ferry Road, London.

The core of the evening revolves around a set by the band, Lautrec.

Fronted by Argentinean singer, Silvia Demetilla, the band include samples,
electronics, keyboards, drums, bass and guest musicians.

Languid, atmospheric sections give way to groove driven intensity with the music referencing trip-hop, worldbeat and nu jazz.

Further details can be accessed via the link on the right of this page.

There will be visual backdrops througout the evening by the Greek
videoart collective, opolis.

Post show, DJ Lau spins Afrobeat, Latin and hip-hop, with percussion and afroscat MCing by Thierry Diallo (Orchestral World Groove, Shrine).

The Space Arts Centre, 269 West Ferry Road, London, E14 3RS. Tel: 020 7515 2453. Doors: 8pm; Tickets £6 (£5 concs)
