The five must-visit shops of the Summer

Feature: Jenny Coggins

GRAB your shades and flip flops and take a sunny afternoon to stroll around our pick of the Summer shops.

VV Rouleaux
If you have a wedding to go to this Summer, then stop in at VV Rouleaux on your way to the ceremony.

The huge choice in this hip haberdashery will offer something to pretty-up your outfit, without upstaging the bride. Choose from beautiful fabric flowers to ribbons, from feathers to beaded trims.

Just don’t forget the wedding gift!
6 Marylebone High Street, W1U 4NJ. 020 7224 5179. www.vvrouleaux.com

Nothing Shop
Nothing Shop has been in business since 1991, selling both their own range and labels like BoxFresh (pictured above) and Ollie and Nic, but as there is still only one shop, there’s a good chance you’ve missed it.

The Nothing philosophy is ‘nothing complicated, nothing cluttered’ which comes through in the clean lines and cut of their togs.

This is a great place to get a one-off look without the pretentious attitude you get with some one-off shops.

Ganesha
Specialising in global style, Ganesa has a global consciousness too – everything on sale here is fair trade.

And it’s an ethic customers clearly agree with as the shop has just expanded. It’s the perfect place to bring the summer vibe into your home and garden: choose from organic bedsheets to bamboo kitchenware.

Travel Bookshop
If you can’t quite make it out of the country this Summer, than indulge in some armchair travelling with a book from the Travel Bookshop.

It stocks travel literature as well as guides and maps, and if that wasn’t enough to get your bum down there, the shop featured in the 1999 film, Notting Hill.

We’re not guaranteeing Julia Roberts will stroll in as you browse the shelves, but you will leave with a great read.
13-15 Blenheim Crescent, W11 2EE. 020 7229 5260. www.thetravelbookshop.com

Speck
Get a taste of the Mediterranean for your kitchen at Speck.

There’s an excellent authentic range of cheeses, and cold meats – as well as some great ready meals for the less confident chef.

If it’s a bottle of plonk that you’re after, then staff are only too happy to recommend a bottle from their wine selection.
2 Holland Park Terrace, W11 4ND. 020 7229 7005.
