Bill Bailey brings Tinselworm to the Gielgud

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

AS WELL as Eddie Izzard, fellow stand-up comedian Bill Bailey will also be appearing in the West End with his latest show – Tinselworm – which opens at the Gielgud Theatre on November 10, 2008.

In Tinselworm, Bailey’s humour targets tattoos, marketing, doorbells, Emo, creationism, post-war banking secrecy, travellers’ tales and the alternate reality that is Bill’s world – all of which will be delivered in his own inimitable style.

Following a UK arena tour in 2007, Tinselworm toured Australia and New Zealand this year.

Part Troll in 2004 was Bailey’s last stand-up show in the West End. He did, however, make his West End acting debut just last year in Pinter’s People at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. And prior to the forthcoming West End season, he can be seen at the Royal Albert Hall in Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra (October 15 to October 17).

Tinselworm is booking until December 20, 2008. It will be followed by Alan Bennett’s Enjoy.
