DENISE Van Outen will return to the London stage to star in Andrew Lloyd
Webber and Don Black's award-winning Tell Me On A Sunday. The show
will open at the Gielgud Theatre on Tuesday, April 8, following previews,
and will play for a strictly limited 12-week season.
This will be Denise Van Outen's first appearance in the theatre since her
triumph starring as 'Roxie Hart' in both the West End and Broadway productions
of Chicago.
Tell Me On A Sunday became a best-selling album on its release in 1979
and was subsequently staged as part of Song & Dance at the Palace Theatre
in 1981, where it enjoyed a record-breaking run.
It has now been expanded and re-worked for this new production to provide
a full evening in the theatre. The show has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and
lyrics by Don Black, with additional contributions by Jackie Clune. Denise
Van Outen will be recording an album of the show, which will be released in
Spring 2003.
