PERFORMED in the stunning Old Royal Observatory Gardens in Greenwich
Park (pictured), and following their previous successes in the same
space with A Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night, Natural
Perspectives present As You Like It, one of Shakespeare's earliest
and most enduring comedies. The play will run in the garden at Greenwich from
Saturday, July 27 to Sunday, August 11.
Reminder: Duke Senior has been banished from the court by his usurping brother,
Frederick, and many lords have followed him into exile in the Forest of Arden.
Rosalind, Duke Senior's daughter, falls in love with Orlando and she is quickly
banished too, accompanied by Frederick's daughter, Celia. The girls decide
to disguise themselves as men.
Meanwhile Orlando has fled to the forest to escape the tyranny of his older
brother, Oliver, who has plotted to kill him. Orlando meets Rosalind in her
disguise and goes every day to 'him' to talk of love and woo the 'boy' who
impersonates Rosalind. An even more complicated story ensues
Founded in 2000, Natural Perspectives Theatre Company is an actor-led company

physical life in an exhilarating and passionate tale of love and betrayal
set in Shakespeare's famous mythical forest.
