BLOOD Wedding, a story of love, lust and betrayal,
opens at the Almeida theatre on May 12, 2005, (previews from May
5) for a limited period only - until June 18, 2005.
Inspired by real-life events in rural Spain, Blood Wedding
spotlights the ultimate love triange - the bride, leaving
her husband-to-be at the altar, eloping instead, with her childhood
sweetheart.

Not surprisingly, the passions of
both men involved run high, with dramatic consequences.
It will star Gael Garcia Bernal, who recently received well-deserved
acclaim for his part in The
Motorcycle Diaries, as well as previous performances
in Bad Education
and Y Tu Mama Tambien.
Adapted for theatre by Tanya Ronder, from a work by Federico
Garcia Lorca, Blood Wedding will be directed by Rufus
Norris who was responsible for Festen.
Tickets are now on sale and range from £6 to £27.50.
