Dear Liar promises to be another literary classic

Preview by Paul Nelson

THE London Shakespeare Group presents Gary Raymond and Delena Kidd in Dear Liar, by Jerome Kilty at Wimbledon Studio Theatre Sunday, May 11 at 7.30pm. The play is directed by Richard Digby Day.

Adapted from the correspondence of George Bernard Shaw and Mrs Patrick Campbell, Dear Liar is an enchanting love story; one which lasted for 40 years.

Dear Liar offers an intimate portrait of Shaw, providing far more telling clues to his private personality than any of his plays could hope to do.

The drama is not only an intelligent, romantic entertainment, but also a history of the English theatre at the turn of the century.

Shining with repartee between two great wits, the play is a masterful compendium of playful banter revealing Shaw and Mrs Patrick Campbell in scenes of both confrontation and reconciliation.

Following many performances at the Studio Theatre about literary legends, this production should be another sure-fire hit, and pre booking is strongly advised.
