The film Footloose, starring Kevin Bacon, was released
in 1984. It subsequently took the world by storm with its youthful
spirit, dazzling dance and electrifying music, featuring some
of the biggest hits of the 1980s. The show ran for two years on
Broadway and is now touring the USA.
The No 1-selling Footloose soundtrack includes hit songs such
as Holding Out For A Hero, Let's Hear It For The Boy, Almost
Paradise and, of course, the international smash hit and title
song, Footloose, with songs written by Kenny Loggins and
Bonnie Tyler.
Written by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobby, Footloose follows
the story of Ren, who moves with his mother to a small town where
dancing is prohibited by law.
But teenagers will be teenagers. They dare to dance and soon
Ren ends up at odds with the town and especially the local minister,
Reverend Moore.
More details will be added nearer the production date when details
are finalised.
