NATURAL Perspectives return for their fourth year to the idyllic
setting of the Old Royal Observatory Garden in Greenwich Park
with a new and adventurous production of Hamlet.
The play runs in the Garden from July 26 to August 10 then, as
an exciting new departure for the company, it transfers to the
historic setting of Middle Temple Garden from August 20 - 24.
Natural Perspectives was founded in 2000 by five young theatre
practitioners while they were training together at LAMDA.
Over the past three years the company has developed an ensemble
style which is open, playful and inclusive: Natural Perspectives
shows are characterised by clear storytelling, visual life and
a rich comic energy.
They have now successfully produced a trilogy of Shakespeare
comedies in Greenwich Park where over 2,000 people saw last year's
production of As You Like It.
This year's production, with guest director Matt Peover, signals
a daring new direction for both the company and the space itself.

Hamlet, probably the most famous but also most difficult
of Shakespeare's texts, will force the company to re-invent the
dynamic between actor and audience, to readdress its relationship
with The Old Royal Observatory Garden, and to forge a new relationship
with Middle Temple Garden. This shortened (two and a half hours),
pacy, and highly physical production will revitalise the play
for audiences in a thrilling new way.
Directed by Matt Peover, (one of the Guardian's Pick of the Fringe
for 2003) whose work includes two highly acclaimed shows at BAC,
Cowboy Mouth and Endgame.
The company will also give a one-off charity performance at Bundles
Barn in Hertfordshire on August 16 in aid of Khandel Light, a
charity, which provides healthcare, medical aid, and water cleaning
projects to Northern India (for details email naturalperspectivestc@hotmail.com)
