WIMBLEDON Studio Theatre (Wimbledon Theatre) is to present
A Hip Hop Story, performed by Kompany Malakhi, the UK's
most successful black dance company. This is a Hip Hop story of
the kind you've never seen before and runs from, Thursday, May
15 to Saturday, May 17 at 7.30pm.
Kwesi Johnson's Kompany Malakhi, featuring Philadelphia-based,
'Chosen's Ill Children' present a gritty, fast paced, time travelling
story of one MC's mind blowing quest to find The Perfect Beat,
which will ultimately save the life of his DJ.
In pursuit of the four elements of Hip Hop, his mission spins
into, DJ's and Turntablism, he grapples with Graffiti, battles
with B-boys and mixes it with MCs.
His search pulls him back to the time before the elements of
Hip Hop were called Hip Hop, fuelling his knowledge and propelling
him back to the future.
Interactive film and an all-star cast, featuring DJ Psycho Mantus
and some of the best B-boys that the USA has to offer, make this
fusion of hip-hop, theatre and the unexpected an experience not
to be missed.
